Wild Ginger (4)
Wild Ginger is a nice shade plant. It has large heart shaped leaves and spreads via rhizome. It likes rich moist forest floor, which is kind like our backyard! -
Trout Lily (1)
Trout Lilies are a spring ephemeral, however they are slow growing and ours have not flowered yet. However a nearby wild location has a bunch and they are an amazing site. -
Trillium (1)
Trillium, Ontario's provincial flower, are slow growing, so ours may not flower for a few years. -

Red Elderberry (1)
Red Elderberry is a native shrub. It has red berries that are probably slightly toxic. (There seems to disagreement if they are actually toxic. Assume that they are) -
Bloodroot (7)
Bloodroot is a shade tolerant wild flower. It has a pretty white flower that only lasts a few days. In the spring the leaf curls are around the stem of the flower. -
Virginia Blue Bells (3)
Virginia Blue Bells are a pretty spring ephemeral. The have clusters of blue flowers. They last for a month or so. -
May Apple (2)
May Apples are an interesting ground cover. They look like little umbrellas. They flower in spring and grow an edible fruit. -
Wild Geranium (2)
Wild Geranium is a shade tolerant wild flower. It has pink blooms and interesting looking seed pods. -
