There is a bug in the Intel HDA driver. The EEE model is not recognized. Therefore to get the audio working with the kernel version of alsa we need to force the driver to select a particular model. Unfortunately, the model is not the EEE pc. This means that, although it mostly works, there are still some issues.
Anyway, here is how to get it basically working.
- Build the alsa intel-hda driver as a module
- add the following lines to your /etc/modules.d/alsa
options snd-hda-intel model=3stack-dig
