Nikon D70
An in depth review by Ken Rockwell
This is my first digital SLR. I have used film SLRs in the past. I always enjoyed the control provided by the SLR and resisted buying a digital camera until D-SLRs were both affordable (for me) and had a rich enough feature set. After seeing a friend's digital rebel I decided that D-SLRs were ready for me to start investigating. At the time, Dec 2004, the D70 appeared to be the best choice. My friend's digital rebel felt like a toy. The D70 was very similar to the film SLRs I remember using in the past.
It is worth noting that the D70 has been replaced by the D70s. My understanding is that the cameras are basically identical.
